Health and Safety Executive Guidance ‘Managing for Health and Safety’ HS(G)65 together with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 outlines the need to both measure and audit the organisation’s health and safety performance.

The ‘Leading Health & Safety at Work’ guidance, published by the HSE outlines the needs for directors to be aware of the organisation’s health and safety performance.

The audit will be carried out by reviewing the health and safety management system taking into account the requirements of HS(G)65 as the model documentation. The audit will follow the health and safety structure illustrated below.

Once completed a detailed health and safety audit report will be provided outlining the weaknesses and strengths of the health and safety management system to include recommendation for improvement.

The audit would normally take a day to visit the company to review procedures and to undertake an inspection of the premises or a site.

On completion of the audit a report will be prepared together with photographs, where necessary, and dispatched within 14 days.

On completion a certificate is issued to confirm level of compliance.
